20 lakh farmers will get Rs 4,688 crore by 16th Nov
Recently, Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel on Sunday said that 20 lakh farmers of the state will get Rs 4,688 crore under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. This amount will be transferred to the farmers' account on 16 September.
Patel said that with one click the outstanding amount of crop insurance for the year 2019 will be sent to the accounts of 20 lakh farmers, about Rs 4,688 crore. He said that the date of enrollment under the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme was extended to 7 September in flood affected districts.
Aim to benefit 11 crore farmers
Under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, the farmer can insure his crop. This scheme is applicable in every state of the country. The central government has set a target of giving benefit of crop insurance scheme to 11 crore farmers in the financial budget 2020-21.
