PM Kisan Update: 10 Lakh Farmers Deprived of Benefits of This Government Scheme

As many as ten lakh farmers in Bengal are yet to receive funds under the Central government’s PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, despite their details having been uploaded in the official portal.

Crores of farmers in the country are eagerly waiting for the next installment of PM Kisan yojana. As per sources, the Centre has made all necessary arrangements to disburse the fund into farmers’ accounts.

10 lakh farmers haven’t received benefits of PM Kisan

Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, West Bengal Agriculture Minister on Monday (21 March 2022) said schemes initiated by the state government led by Mamata Banerjee have ensured the social security of farmers.

He claimed that “Farmers in West Bengal are not driven to suicide from debt-burdens, unlike other states in India”.

The minister also pointed out that ten lakh farmers in Bengal are yet to receive funds under the Central government’s PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, despite their details having been uploaded in the official portal.

He also mentioned that 77.95 lakh beneficiaries have got assistance in 2021-22 under West Bengal’s Krishak Bandhu scheme, in which a maximum of Rs 10,000 and a minimum of Rs 4,000 is provided to the farmers and share-croppers.

eKYC is mandatory for 11th Installment

Before government releases the 11th installment under the scheme, all the beneficiaries have been asked to complete their eKYC. To update eKYC, you will have to visit the official website and make the necessary changes.

How to complete eKYC on website or mobile phone

You can complete this work online with the help of PM Kisan mobile app or laptop or computer while sitting at home. Follow the steps given below to complete your eKYC online; 

  • Go to the official website of PM Kisan. 

  • On the right-hand side at the farmers' corner option, you will find eKYC option. Click it

  • After this enter your Aadhaar and click on the search button. 

  • Fill in the required details and submit.

  • If everything goes well then eKYC will be completed or else it will show invalid. In this case, you will have to contact the nearest Aadhar Seva Kendra. 

Note - The official website says for Aadhaar based OTP authentication, click on eKYC option at Farmers Corner while for biometric authentication, contact nearest CSC centers.
