Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojna (PMKMY) was started by the Central government to provide social security to the Small and Marginal Farmers (SMF) in form of pension.
Under this PM Maandhan scheme, provision has been made for payment of a minimum fixed pension of Rs. 3,000 per month or Rs. 36000 per year to the eligible small and marginal farmers, subject to certain exclusion clauses, on attaining the age of 60 years. The Scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme, with entry age of 18 to 40 years.
The eligible beneficiary can opt to become a member of the Scheme by subscribing to a Pension Fund. The beneficiary is required to contribute Rs 100 per month at median entry age of 29 years. The best thing is that the Central Government also contributes to the Pension Fund in equal amount, which is managed by the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), who is also responsible for pension pay out.
PM Maan Dhan Total Registration
As on 31 January 2022, a total of 21, 86,918 farmers are enrolled in PM Maan Dhan yojana. As the Scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme, with entry age of 18 to 40 years, no beneficiary has yet attained the age of 60 to be eligible for payment said, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar in Rajya Sabha.

Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture have made it clear that there will be no fees to register for PM-KMY. And if a farmer is already getting the benefit of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana then he will not have to submit separate documents for this pension yojana.
Under this pension scheme, you can opt to contribute directly from the benefits received from PM-Kisan scheme. This way, you will not have to spend money directly from your wallet.
If a contributor leaves the scheme within a period of less than ten years from the date of joining then his share of contribution would be returned to him with savings bank rate of interest payable thereon.
How to Register for PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana
There are two ways in which the registration of PM Kisan Maandhan can be done; The PM-KMY enrollment can be done through self-registration (official website) or vis Common Service Centres in different states.
