Rabi Season: Farmers Must Sow These Crops Before 31st December for Maximum Profit

The Modi Government has set a goal of Doubling Farmers’ Income by 2020. For this it has been running various schemes & programs. But there are certain things that the farmers must keep in their mind, to get the best yields and increase their earnings.

But there are certain things that the farmers must keep in their mind, to get the best yields and increase their earnings. These include sowing the crops at the right time, selecting crops according to the season & soil conditionsSowing the crop on the right time will help you achieve better yields.  

Indian Cropping Seasons: 

According to the season crops in India are divided into three parts Rabi, Kharif and Zaid. And their sowing time is also fixed and it is sown accordingly. 

Kharif crops are sown from June to July. 

Rabi crops are sown from October to November. 

Zaid crops are sown from February to March. 

Rabi Season Crops & Their Right Time of Sowing 

Right now Rabi Season is going on in India. Rabi crops are generally sown in the months of October-November. These crops require low temperature at the time of sowing and dry and warm environment at the time of ripening. Wheat, barley, gram, lentils, linseed and mustard are the main Rabi crops.

Wheat Sowing: 

The best time for sowing wheat crop is from 1st to 20th November. Whereas late varieties can be sown till December 31. 

Sowing Barley: 

The right time for sowing barley is from the first week of November to the last week. But if there is a delay, it can be sown till third week of December. 

Sowing of Gram

In irrigated areas, sowing of gram should be done in the first fortnight of October. Whereas in irrigated areas it can be sown till October 30. However, some late varieties can be grown even in December. 

Sowing Capsicum:

Sowing of Capsicum is done from first week of November till December end. 

Sowing Tomato: 

Tomato is probably the favorite vegetable of most gardeners. There are a lot of varieties of tomato that you can grow which include many exotic varieties. The right time to sow tomato however is till the end of December.
