Tamil Nadu's government approves subsidies for Garuda Aerospace, an Indian drone startup, as part of its agricultural mechanization program. Only two companies have received this approval. The program aims to address agricultural labour shortages and enhance crop production by subsidizing drones for pesticide spraying and pest monitoring. Farmers can also receive drone pilot training or hire licensed pilots. Those with bank loans for Garuda Aerospace drones benefit from a 3% interest subsidy through the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF).

Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, expressed his commitment to advancing agricultural practices in Tamil Nadu and throughout India through innovative drone technology. The subsidy provided through the agricultural mechanization program will facilitate greater technology adoption and boost crop production. He expressed gratitude for the program and its subsidies, reaffirming Garuda Aerospace's dedication to supporting and enabling farmers to embrace technology and modern agricultural practices.

A Tamil Nadu farmer believes that drone technology is making a significant impact on agriculture and anticipates growing demand. Garuda Aerospace's drones have revolutionized farming by saving time and resources through tasks like fertilizing and pesticide spraying. They cover large farmland areas for more even and consistent results. These drones have addressed the challenges of previously difficult-to-spray land. The farmer praises their quality, stability, and excellent customer service. With advancing drone tech, they foresee an even greater role for it in farming, especially with companies like Garuda Aerospace leading the way, and they eagerly await the benefits in their lifetime.

Garuda Aerospace has undertaken a comprehensive Drone Yatra across several Indian states, encompassing Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Punjab, West Bengal, Goa, and Bihar. This initiative is aimed at bringing about a transformative change in the agricultural sector of India through the deployment of their advanced Kisan Drones. The company has obtained approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for both manufacturing and training, exemplifying its unwavering dedication to safety and regulatory compliance.
