Punjab Agricultural University was established in the year 1962 to serve the state of erstwhile Punjab. It was inaugurated by Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on July 8, 1963

3. ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute, also known as IARI or PUSA Institute is the country's premier national Institute for agricultural research, education & extension.

4. ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar

Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) is a research institution that is dedicated to livestock research and development of the region. IVRI with a faculty strength of more than 275 has a major mandate of research, teaching, consultancy & technology transfer activities.

5. G B Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar

G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology is the first agriculture university in the country and was established at Pantnagar on the pattern of Land Grant Agriculture Universities of the US.

6. Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is a public funded agricultural university in Hisar, Haryana. It is the biggest agricultural university in Asia.

7. Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana

Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) was founded by an act of the Punjab Legislature No. 16 of 2005 notified in Punjab Govt. Gazette on 9, Aug 2005 and started operating w.e.f. 21 April 2006 to promote livestock production, health & prevention of the disease(s) through integrated teaching, research & extension program (s).

8. Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is a state university accredited by the ICAR and NAAC. It was established in 1971. The university is recognized by UGC and works in accordance with Tamil Nadu Directorate of Education.

9. University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad

University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad was founded in 1986. It has five Colleges, 27 Research Stations, six Agriculture Extension Education Centers, six Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and ATIC. The University has its jurisdiction over seven districts namely Belgaum, Bijapur, Dharwad, Bagalkot, Gadag, Haveri & Uttar Kannada in northern Karnataka.

10. Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Hyderabad

Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University is a state Agri university that was separated from Central Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University in 2014 due to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

11. Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, Nauni-Solan

Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, also known as Dr. Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture & Forestry, is a state university situated in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.

12. Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, Srinagar

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir is an Agri university in Shalimar, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.

13. Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, Guntur

University was inaugurated on 20 Mar 1965 by Late Shri. Lal Bahadur Shastri. The University was renamed Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University on 7 Nov 1996 in honor & memory of a well-known parliamentarian Acharya Nayakulu Gogineni Ranga, who rendered notable selfless service for the cause of farmers and is considered as an outstanding educationist, farmer leader & freedom fighter.

14. Ch. Sarwan Kumar Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur

Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, popularly known as CSK Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University is located in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh.

15. Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur

Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), is an Agri university located in West Bengal. The University provides higher education in theoretical as well as technical fields of Agriculture, Horticulture & Agricultural Engineering.
