The first symptoms of udder inflammation can be seen in skim milk. The particles are found in the milk and the milk turns yellow. In the acute stage of udder inflammation, the udder becomes swollen. Inflammation of the udder is more likely to be caused by milk becoming watery and pungent. Eighty percent of these infections are caused by the bacterium Streptococcus agalactiae. The disease is divided into three main types. Clinical, subclinical and chronic.

How to prevent udder inflammation?

Cows are more likely to develop udder swelling in the weeks associated with calving. Therefore, keep the udder clean. If the pen and the environment are not kept clean, the disease can be transmitted from one cow to another. Care should be taken to keep the diseased cows separate and milked. Care should be taken to drain the milk completely. The milkman should wash his hands thoroughly with soap before milking. In addition, the udder should be washed with potassium permanganate solution and wiped with a clean cloth.

Care should be taken to ensure that water is not trapped in the pen and that the excrement of the cows is kept away from the pen. Wash the pen at least once a day with disinfectant. The udder of an infected cow should be disinfected with disinfectant only to prevent cuts or hairs on the udder. Do not forget to apply limestone powder once a month on the manure compost.

Here are some tips to help you get rid of nipple swelling.

1. Apply coconut oil on the udder and spray the udder well with water.

2. Grind the hibicus leaf with curd and apply it on the udder.

3. It is also recommended to apply cold curd on the udder.

4. A mixture of aloe vera, turmeric and lime is applied in the form of a paste on the udder to cure the disease.

The only thing we need to take care of before getting sick is the health care of the cows. Keep the cow and cowshed clean.
