Karnataka Government Launches First-of-its-kind Animal Welfare War Room

The government of Karnataka has launched the first of its kind Animal welfare war room to reach out to the cattle breeders and dairy farmers and increase the health & productivity of livestock.

The government of Karnataka has launched the first of its kind Animal welfare war room to reach out to the cattle breeders and dairy farmers and increase the health & productivity of livestock.  

Animal Husbandry Minister, Prabhu Chauhan said that the setup of this war room for animal welfare is in the Commissionerate of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services in Bengaluru. The Animal welfare helpline number have also been set up at the CAHVS at an expense of RS 45 lakh.  

The Animal welfare helpline number would be available round the clock and would work to the protect livestock against disease, human caused harm and natural disaster and cruelty. 

The Animal Husbandry department said that the helpline number would be receiving queries, complaints or suggestions through all platforms including Telephone, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, E-mail and publish the daily statistics on the website of Department.  

The Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has launched the first of its kind Animal welfare war room on Wednesday, 23rd June, in Bengaluru after performing a “Pooja” of the cow.  

CM BS Yediyurappa said the “Animal Husbandry has a huge contribution to the GDP of our country”.  

Chauhan said that the war room of animal welfare would be a boon to the cattle breeder and dairy farmers as this would address their concerns and according to him, the Animal Husbandry Department have taken the animal welfare services to the doorstep of farmers, as this would help them to address their concerns, complaints or queries related to animals by only using the Animal welfare number. 

He also said that the department is working hard at their end to help and maintain the health of the livestock and they requested the farmers to kindly make use of the Animal welfare number, whenever they need.
