National Fisheries Development Board Receives 'India Agribusiness Awards 2022'

The fair highlighted key stakeholders' advancements and modernizations in major sectors such as food, agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and fisheries.

Dr. Suvarna Chandrappagari, IFS, Chief Executive NFDB, was presented with the award in New Delhi by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, MoS, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, and Dr. Ramesh Chand, Member, NITI Aayog.

National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), a vibrant organization in Hyderabad under the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, received the "India Agribusiness Awards 2022" for the best Agribusiness Award.

The India International Agro Trade and Technology Fair - 2022 was organised to commemorate the services and support provided to the fisheries sector by playing an important and exemplary role for the stakeholders.

The fair highlighted the advancements and modernizations made by key stakeholders in major sectors such as food, agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, and fisheries, as well as its support for various need-based projects such as:

  • Technology upgradation

  • Species diversification in aquaculture

  • Dissemination of new and improved fish varieties

  • Promoting seaweed cultivation, ornamental fisheries, training & capacity building, etc.

  • Bringing significant increases in fish production and productivity

  • Improving the livelihoods of fishers

  • Promoting entrepreneurship opportunities in fisheries

Dr. Suvarna Chandrappagari, IFS, Chief Executive NFDB, was presented with the award in New Delhi by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, MoS, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, and Dr. Ramesh Chand, Member, NITI Aayog.

The "AgroWorld 2022" - India International Agro Trade and Technology Fair - 2022 took place from November 9-11, 2022 at the Indian Agriculture Research Institute, Pusa Campus, New Delhi.

It is being organised by the Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA), a government body in India that works on technical collaborations with a variety of national and international industrial associations and related organizations. The Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) is a non-profit organisation that promotes trade facilitation, entrepreneurship, and agribusiness services.
