Rupala Launches Nationwide AHDF KCC Campaign, All Animal Husbandry, Fish Farmers to Get KCC by 15 February

Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying has launched a ‘Nationwide AHDF KCC Campaign’ today (November 15, 2021) in hybrid mode. The nationwide campaign aims to expand the benefits of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to all eligible animal husbandry & fish farmers across the country.

Union Ministers of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan & Dr. L. Murugan and Secretaries of DAHD,DFS and DoF were also present on the occasion.

Nationwide AHDF KCC Campaign - 15 Nov 2021 to 15 Feb 2022

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), together with the Department of Fisheries (DoF) and the Department of Financial Services (DFS) is organizing the "Nationwide AHDF KCC Campaign" from 15 November 2021 to 15 February 2022.

Under this Campaign, the target of the government is to cover all eligible farmers who are involved in various Animal Husbandry activities such as the rearing of bovines, goats, pigs, poultry & other allied activities.

This special campaign will try to bring together all eligible dairy farmers associated with milk unions or MPCs who have not yet been covered in the earlier campaign.

How much loan is available for animal husbandry and fish farmers?

Earlier the facility of Kisan Credit Card was available only to crop cultivators. But it has been expanded to Fisheries and Animal Husbandry sectors as well. A cheap loan of Rs 3 lakh is available under KCC for farming while Rs. 2 lakh for animal husbandry and fish farmers.

What is KCC

Kisan Credit Card or KCC is an initiative by the Indian Government to make sure that farmers of the country have access to credit at a reasonable rate. This scheme was introduced in August 1998 and was based on the recommendations of a special committee formed for inputs on loans & agricultural welfare. Kisan Credit Card Loan provides term financial assistance to the farmers for covering cost of farming, harvest & farm maintenance.
