Larry Page and his luxury yacht: $45 million 

Google’s co-founder Larry Page shelled out close to $45 million dollars on Senses Luxury Yacht. The yacht has a helipad. 10 luxurious suites, jet skis among other things. Page bought this yacht sometime in 2011. 

 

Masayoshi Son’s ‘most expensive’ home in California: $117 million 

Softbank’s CEO, the Japanese billionaire, Masayoshi Son reportedly owns the most expensive house in Silicon Valley. Son spent close to $117 million on this nine-acre house on Mountain View Road in California. 

Elon Musk and his James Bond submarine car: $ 1 million 

Elon Musk, Tesla founder and CEO, is one of the most eccentric billionaires around in tech town. Musk splurged $1 million on the the Lotus Esprit submarine car that was used in the iconic Bond movie, The Spy Who Loved Me. 

Jack Ma on the most expensive house in Hong Kong: $191 million 

The Peak, as the neighborhood is called, is supposedly home to Asia’s most expensive home, which allegedly belongs to Alibaba founder, Chinese billionaire Jack Ma while it was never confirmed but it was reported that in Hong Kong’s most expensive neighborhood an “unnamed buyer” spent $191 million house.  

Eric Schmidt has a yacht worth $72 million 

There’s something about billionaire “Googlers” and their love for yachts. Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Google, spent about $72 million on a 195-foot yacht called Oasis.

Carlos Slim and his museum of artworks: $800 million 

Mexican telecom magnate has a thing for collecting and art and to showcase that the spent $800 million on a museum. The museum is home to over 65,000 of the collection of artworks he owns. 

Mark Zuckerberg and his two 700-acre properties: $100 million 

While Facebook CEO is well-known philanthropist, he did spend close to $100 million on two properties in Kauai’s North Shore area, according to Forbes. The billionaire bought two properties – one 393-acre beach property and another 357-acre sugarcane plantation – in 2014.

Eduardo Saverin on a $60 million penthouse 

The relatively lesser known co-founder of Facebook, Eduardo Saverin splashed $60 million on a penthouse in Singapore in 2014. It was then one of the most expensive home in Singapore. 

Mukesh Ambani and his sprawling home: $1 billion 

India’s richest man also lives in one of the most famous addresses in the country. His house, Antilla, was built at an estimated cost of $1 billion. It’s 27-storey structure that is spread over 400,000 square foot and has three helipads, a ballroom, six underground parking levels and nine elevators. 

Bill Gates and the scriptures of Leonardo da Vinci: $30 million 

Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates spent close to $30 million in 1994 to acquire a 72-page manuscript of Da Vinci. It is said that da Vinci wrote it in the early 16th century and has full of diagrams, writings and sketches. 

Sergei Brin and his superyacht: $80 million 

Like the other co-founder of Google, Sergei Brin too spent an extravagant sum on a luxury yacht. Called the Dragonfly, Brin brought this superyacht in 2011 for $80 million. At one point, this was the world’s fastest superyacht and has an open-air cinema among other facilities on board. 

Steve Ballmer’s NBA team: $2 billion 

Microsoft’s other co-founder Steve Ballmer spent close to $2 billion on acquiring NBA team Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers were bought by Ballmer in 2014. 

Michael Dell and the ‘most expensive apartment’ in New York: $100 million 

In February 2018, Dell founder Michael Dell paid over $100 million for the 10,923-square apartment in New York. At that time, it was reported that no other house in New York had surpassed the cost of $100 million.
