Lemon: Just a fruit or far more than that

As everyone knows lemon is a sour and sweet taste booster in all kinds of dishes. And it can help in fighting many diseases and increases immunity. It’s time to know what lemons can do other than giving health benefits. 

Uses of Lemon

Bye Bye acne and pimples 

Lemons are known for their acidic properties. Using a few drops of lemon juice on your pimples, acne and blackheads can reduce them significantly after regular use. It will also tighten the skin and make it youthful. But make sure you apply it carefully with a cotton ball as it may harm the skin. Apply for 5 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water. If you have sensitive skin, you can mix it with an equal quantity of honey before application. 

Pigmentation and scars can be reduced 

Lemon is a natural bleaching agent. It can lighten acne scars and pigmentation on the skin and regular use can lighten the skin. And lemon can also be used as a scrub with sugar granules and honey. And you can also directly rub lemon peel on dark elbows and knees. 

Clear white smile 

Lemon can be used with baking soda to make your teeth whiter and brighter. Just mix equal quantities of lemon and baking soda and rub it on your teeth. 

Manicure and pedicure 

Going to the salon regularly in this busy life is not so easy for everyone. But girls out there can’t compromise with their manicure and pedicure so here is the solution. You can add lemon and some oils in your warm water tub for manicure and pedicure. And before that, lemons peels can be rubbed to get rid of discolored yellow patched nails. 

Stress reliever and mood booster 

Believe it or not, if you are hungover or feeling low or feeling less energetic, lemons can help. Drinking lemonade or lemon tea can enhance the mood and give you some energy. 

Psoriasis and dandruff treatment 

Lemon can be used to get rid of dead cells. The mixture of lemon and yogurt can be applied on the scalp. The natural enzymes and acids of this combination helps in removing dandruff flakes from the scalp. Lemon and tea mask can also be used for dandruff as its antimicrobial and antifungal properties will remove dandruff and rejuvenate the skin. 

Highlighter for hair 

Want to lighten few strands of hair, lemon can help, its bleaching properties can be used to highlight your hair. Apply lemon juice and leave for 30 minutes. 

Utensils cleaner 

Some stains on the steel utensils just stick to it but lemon can help in removing them. Just put some lemon slices and fill the pot to be cleaned with water and boil it, after the rub the stains and they will go away or you can simply rub lemon peels on the stains. Old utensils can be washed with water after adding some drops of lemon in it to get a new shine. 

Insect repellent 

Citrus oil in the lemon keeps the insct away. If you want natural bug repellent for your home, you can put lemon peels in the corners of the home and near the holes to keep bugs away. Lemon can also be used as a disinfectant. 

These were some known and less known uses of lemon which proves that lemon is far more than just a fruit. But, everything should be done with care as lemons are acidic in nature so be very careful while using it on skin.
