As per the nutritional information from USDA, One ounce (28 g) of Almond contains, 

  • Calories- 164

  • Fats- 14.2 g

  • Carbohydrates- 6.1 g

  • Protein- 6 g

  • Fiber- 3.5 g

  • Calcium- 76.3 mg

  • Magnesium- 76.5 mg

  • Phosphorus- 136 mg

  • Potassium- 208 mg

  • Zinc- 0.9 mg

  • Copper- 0.3 mg

  • Vitamin E- 7.27 mg

Health Benefits of Almonds 

1. Good for Heart health

Almonds are said to be good for the heart and can be consumed with other nuts. Almonds also increase antioxidants in the bloodstream and also reduce blood pressure. 

2. Good source of Vitamin E-

Almond is a good source of vitamin E. Being rich in vitamin E, Vitamin E oil is also prepared from almonds. Consuming almonds in moderate amounts can also decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. 

3. Almond for Eyes-

Almonds protect your eyes from any kind of abnormal changes, just like carrots, almonds are also good for eyes health.

4. Good for skin health-

Almond nourishes the skin and is also used in many skincare products. It is also used for glowing skin and reducing acne and blemishes. 

5. Improves memory and Brain Power-

Consuming 5 to 6 almonds daily in the morning can improve your brainpower and memory. Almond also contains some chemicals which promote the growth of brain cells. 

6. Almonds for the nervous system-

Almonds contain magnesium in some amounts, which benefits the nervous system, and improves the overall functioning of nerves. It also develops a healthy metabolic rate.  

7. Enhances hair growth and reduces premature greying-

Almonds reduce premature greying of hair and make hair grow fast and also make hair strands strong. 

Apart from all these health benefits, anything consumed in higher amounts can cause side effects, almond also does the same, if consumed in higher amounts, almonds can cause problems including nausea, vomiting, or any other side effects.
