Diabetic Patients Must Avoid The Consumption Of Processed Food

A recent study suggests that diabetic patients who have a low intake of processed food in their diets have a better chance of surviving. The findings were published in ‘The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.'

In accordance with the study, the time of meals should be consistent with the body's natural clock. The body's sleep-wake cycle is regulated internally by the body's natural clock. It resets every 24-hours. Diabetes patients' overall health may improve if specific food items are consumed at variable times during the day.

The study observed that consuming different foods at different times has given a positive result for people who have been suffering from diabetic conditions.

Expert’s Opinion

According to Dr. Qingaro Song, M.D, Harbin Medical University in Harbin, China, consuming potatoes in the early hours of the day, whole grains and cereals in the afternoon,

milk, green vegetables, and less processed food items during the evening are all linked to better immunity and can increase the life expectancy of people suffering from diabetic conditions. He also stated that nutritional guidelines and intervention strategies for diabetes should integrate the optimal consumption times for foods in the future.

From the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, a total of 4642 diabetic patients database, was examined by the researchers to evaluate their risk of developing heart conditions.

They discovered that people suffering from the diabetic condition, who consumed vegetables with starch in the morning, cereals, and whole grains in the noon, and green vegetables such as broccoli and spinach along with milk in the evening were less prone to dying from heart-related issues and those diabetic patients who consumed a large number of processed food items in the evening were more likely to die from heart conditions.
