Goldenrod is an important medicinal herb used to reduce swelling and pain, as a diuretic to increase urine flow and to stop muscle spasms. It is also used for joint pain (rheumatism), gout, arthritis as well as eczema, and other skin conditions.

Goldenrod is also used to treat infections of tuberculosis that have become active again after a period of inactivity, enlargement of the liver, diabetes, internal bleeding, fever, asthma, etc. Goldenrod is used as a mouth rinse for inflammation of the throat and mouth, and we can also apply it directly to the skin to improve wound healing.

Health Advantages of Goldenrod

Reduces Inflammation

It is used as an anti-inflammatory and it supports you in using it for arthritis and other inflammatory conditions and topical uses. Some studies also suggest that goldenrod may have anti-spasmodic effects, which means it may help alleviate muscle spasms.

Fights Certain Infections

Goldenrod plant extracts are used for killing certain infectious agents in animals. It is recommended that goldenrod helps animals that are infected with Acanthamoeba survive up to three times longer as compared to those who were not treated. The extracts were used both externally and internally and found to be effective in both forms, and they also did not appear to be toxic.

Kidney and Bladder Health

Goldenrod helps to level out impurities by helping to release extra water and increase urine flow. This can help to remove renal crystals that might otherwise develop into kidney stones and remove other possibly harmful microorganisms.
