After getting the Padma Bhushan award from President Ram Nath Kovind, industrialist  Anand Mahindra turned to Twitter to express his appreciation. On Monday, Mahindra received India's third-highest civilian honour in the sector of trade and industry. The head of the Mahindra group, on the other hand, stated that he "really felt undeserved" in comparison to the other awardees.

Mahindra retweeted a post from the President of India's official Twitter account on Tulasi Gowda, an environmentalist from Karnataka who won the Padma Shri award for planting over 30,000 saplings in the area

“This government has made a long-overdue, transformative adjustment in the composition of Padma Award recipients. Individuals making essential contributions to the advancement of society at the grassroots level are now the focus of much of the attention. "I felt very unworthy to be among their ranks," Mahindra said in the description.

After the post was shared, it gained over 15,000 likes on Twitter, and other people praised him for honouring the lesser-known individuals who were honoured with Padma awards for their dedication and contributions to the country.

On Monday, Anand Mahindra won the Padma Bhushan award. "President Ram Nath Kovind confers the Padma Bhushan to Anand Gopal Mahindra for Trade and Industry." He is the Mahindra Group's Chairman. "During his tenure, the Group has expanded locally and globally into a variety of important industrial areas, ranging from automobiles to IT and aerospace," says the caption of the post published by the President of India's official Twitter account.

The names of Padma Awardees were released by the central government in January 2020, but owing to COVID-19 rules, the awards were only delivered on Monday.

At the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, the President bestowed Padma awards on 119 Padma Awardees. There were seven Padma Vibhushans, ten Padma Bhushans, and 102 Padma Shris on the list.
