BigHaat, an agri-tech platform, has raised Rs 100 crore in Series B funding from investors led by J M Financial Private Equity. Beyond Next Ventures, an existing Japanese investor has also participated in the latest round of funding.

"We intend to use this capital to strengthen our technology offering and expand our footprint in order to build an aggressive growth strategy." "It's truly a landmark event in our fascinating journey as we strive to build India's most admired agtech ecosystem to transform the future of millions of farmers and the agriculture sector in India," said Sateesh Nukala, CEO, BigHaat.

BigHaat has raised nearly $17 million in total funding since its inception in 2015. It is an online retailer of agricultural inputs such as seeds, agrochemicals, and equipment, as well as a provider of advisory services.

"We are strengthening our market linkage footprint by building a robust supply chain system that leverages our large farmer network and community," Nukala added.

BigHaat provides farmers with omnichannel access to advisory and agri-inputs via digital touch-points (mobile app/web) or a missed call for non-internet users, as well as on-the-ground presence.

It provides vernacular advice in multiple regional languages to rural users. Aside from offering a direct-to-farmer platform, it also provides business intelligence and data analytics to many agri-inputs manufacturers about demand and supply, market feedback, and new market opportunities.

About BigHaat:

With data-driven business intelligence, BigHaat Technology Platform is driving efficiencies for Agri Inputs manufacturers in distribution, marketing, and operations.
