ICAR Gives Rs 25 Lakh Grant to eFeed to Boost Livestock and Dairy Practices

Precision animal management and feed practices startup, eFeed, has received a grant of Rs 25 Lakhs from the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), Government of India. The grant ceremony was held at the ICAR campus in Delhi, and featured key figures from ICAR, including joint directors.

Founded in December 2020 by Kumar Ranjan, eFeed aims to revolutionise animal nutrition, health, environmental sustainability, and economic development in the cattle industry.

Environmental Responsibility

eFeed is indulged in sustainable livestock practices, actively combatting methane emissions through the promotion of balanced ration (TMR), localised feed formulations, and initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the livestock sector.

Expanding Operations

The funds secured will be utilized to expand the company's operations. eFeed aims to showcase a substantial increase in milk output, contributing significantly to the overall productivity and sustainability of the livestock and dairy sector.

Educating Farmers for Sustainable Practices

In addition to expanding its operations, eFeed conducts training programs to educate farmers about the dietary requirements of different animal species, organic feed processing, and the preparation of feed using readily available resources at home. The startup places a strong emphasis on the integration of sustainable animal culture with the food security value chain.

The organisation has already collaborated with over 1.2 lakh farmers, focusing on sustainable animal culture and integration with the food security value chain. The startup has raised more than $1.5 million in venture capital from prominent investors like Omnivore, Huddle, Better Capital, Faad, and Venture Catalyst.
