TAFE’s Big Support to Tamil Nadu Government, Donates Rs 1 crore for Procurement of Oxygen Cylinders

As part of its efforts to help Tamil Nadu fight against Covid-19 pandemic, Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd (TAFE) on 18 May 2021 has donated Rs 1 crore to the state government for procurement of oxygen cylinders.

In addition, TAFE has offered 500 oxygen concentrators to the Tamil Nadu government, according to a company statement.

The statement further mentioned that senior officers called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Monday (17 May 2021) and handed over Rs 1 crore cheque for the procurement of oxygen cylinders.

The company said that the distribution as well as installation of the oxygen concentrators in small hospitals & primary healthcare centres of Trichy, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Ranipet and Virudhunagar have been started by the state government.

Mallika Srinivasan, TAFE Chairman & Managing Director said that "The second Covid-19 wave has resulted in immense humanitarian suffering. We at TAFE offer our humble support to the efforts of the Tamil Nadu government in fighting Covid-19 and providing quality care to the people of Tamil Nadu".

It is important to mention that TAFE that manufactures Massey Ferguson & Eicher brand of tractors, had taken up numerous initiatives since the Covid-19 pandemic struck last year to help farmers in rural regions and communities around its factories as well as offices.
