UPL Ltd., a global producer of sustainable agricultural goods and solutions, has announced a partnership with G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology to create long-term farming solutions. UPL and the University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create sustainable solutions for farmers, keeping the 'Farmer First' approach in mind.

The MoU intends to encourage research and development in mutually agreed-upon areas, as well as collaborative work in the field of product stewardship through the provision of safe usage training. UPL will work with the university to develop drone technology and will also award university students with scholarships. G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, India's first agricultural university, has championed biological research. UPL will work together to look on ways to make this technology available to farmers. The partnership also intends to improve BioSolutions research in order to reduce the impacts of biotic and abiotic stress on crops, which is a major source of crop loss.

"At UPL, we are devoted to the prosperity and well-being of our core stakeholders, the farmers," stated Mr Rahul Pandey, Head Commercial and Marketing, UPL.

“We hope that by collaborating with the University, we will be able to supply farmers with sustainable products that include cutting-edge technology, helping them to boost their production and profits. The partnership reflects our commitment to UPL's Open Ag mission."

"We are thrilled that the two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding," stated Dr Nain of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. " We believe that the partnership would greatly benefit farmers by introducing them to modern technology and solutions. We'd also want to express our appreciation for UPL's willingness to give stewardship training and financial support to students."
