16th Agriculture Science Congress (ASC) Gives Five-Star Recognition to Farmers

The primary objective of the event was to answer the complications that the farmers are facing and have insightful discussions on farm loans, fertilizer subsidies as well as on pest menace.

The 16th Agriculture Science Congress (ASC), held at the Lee Meridian Hotel, Kochi, honours the potential of about 200 farmers who participated in the conference representing Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) from within and outside Kerala.

The primary objective of the event was to answer the complications that the farmers are facing and have insightful discussions on farm loans, fertilizer subsidies as well as on pest menace.

  • The event was led by V Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agriculture University along with Ashok K Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Jhansi University.

  • The event also discussed the financial problems faced by various farmers representing FPOs and stated on coming up with the necessary solutions for the same.

The 16th Agriculture Science Congress (ASC) also honoured prominent dignitaries within the agricultural field including Padma Shri Awardees such as:

  • Cheruvayal K Raman

  • Bata Krushna Sahoo

  • Sabarmatee

  • Sethpal Singh

  • Chandra Shekhar Singh

Farmers also took this opportunity to praise the work of Krishi Vigyan Kendras who helped them in their agricultural life and value-added product manufacturing.

ASC also showcased an agriculture exhibition having more than 100 stalls of universities, ICAR, private companies, and KVKs. During the seminar, eminent personalities from institutions and universities covered recent advances in the field of agriculture.
