Aadhaar Card: Quick Steps to Apply for Blue Aadhar or Baal Aadhar

The Indian government has introduced unique identity cards for kids under the age of five called "Blue Aadhaar Cards," which are similar to Aadhaar Cards.

The 12-digit Aadhar card acts as a unique identification number that all citizens must possess to use any services offered by banks, public-private financial institutions, and other government institutes.

Similar to this, children are getting "Blue Aadhar Cards" that contain information about them and can be used to enroll them in institutions. Contrary to the standard Aadhar card, the child's Aadhar card would become invalid once he is 5 years old. How to Apply for a Blue/Baal Aadhar Card Online?

  • Go to the official website of UIDAI: uidai.gov.in.

  • Here, click on the Aadhar Card registration link.

  • Enter all the details including the name of the child, parent’s phone number, e-mail address, etc.

  • Fill in all the demographic information such as a residential address, locality, district, state, etc.

  • Now, click on the fixed appointment tab. Schedule the date of registration for the Aadhar Card.

  • The applicant can choose the nearest enrolment center to proceed further with the enrolment process.

Please note: Don't forget to bring a printout of the form, the reference number, and all the necessary documents to the center with you on the day of the appointment. Add a reference number to the documents you are bringing.

Documents required for Blue/Baal Aadhar Card

  • You will require the child's birth certificate in order to apply for Baal Aadhaar.

  • A photo ID from a recognized educational institution or a student ID is also accepted as proof.

  • It is important to provide a 12-digit Aadhaar number that belongs to either parent because the Baal Aadhaar card is linked to either parent's Aadhaar card.

The first update Baal Aadhaar cards are issued once, at the age of five, and must be updated again when the child reaches the age of 15.
