Aadhar Card News: Now You Can Register and Update Aadhar Card at Your Nearest Post Office

You can enroll or update for an Aadhar card at your local post office. The Post India made this announcement via tweeter.

The government created the Aadhaar card to act as a form of identification for citizens. However, since Aadhaar has become connected to a variety of other cards, like PAN and ration cards, it has become more than just an identification card.

When applying for any government service, an Aadhar card may be used as proof of identification, proof of address, and proof of age. Aadhaar is a very versatile card in this regard, since it may be utilized for all government-related services and programs.

According to a tweet from India Post: "At your local post office, you may enroll or update your Aadhar card. 13352 centers around the country are providing Aadhar services to our citizens."

Aadhaar enrollment is free of charge in post offices.

Updating Aadhar Card

  • Changes to demographic information such as name, email address, phone number, address, and date of birth.

  • Biometric updates, including facial images, ten fingerprints, and Iris, are done at post offices.

  • Aadhaar updates are fee-based, with citizens paying Rs. 50 (plus 18 percent GST) for each update.

How to Locate an Aadhaar-enabled Center in Your Area

Users may identify a local Aadhaar card enrolling center by selecting the state option. The user must pick the state in which he or she presently resides using the drop-down box.

  • Step 1: From the drop-down menu, choose a state.

  • Step 2: Pick a district and a sub-district.

  • Step 3: From the menu, choose a village or a city.

If you only want permanent centers, check the box.

  • Step 4: Fill in the Captcha code.

  • Step 5: Click to the 'Locate a Center' tab.

How to find Aadhaar enrolment center by search option

  • Step 1: From the drop-down option, choose 'Search Box.'

  • Step 2: Type in the name of the town, city, and district.

  • Step 3: Fill in the captcha code.

  • Step 4: Click to the 'Locate a Center' tab.

When visiting an Aadhaar enrollment center, keep the following in mind.

  • Original copies of supporting papers are required for Aadhaar enrollment. These original copies will be scanned and emailed to you after enrollment.

  • Aadhaar enrollment is absolutely free; no payment is required at the enrolling center.

  • Even if one or more of your fingers or irises are injured, you may apply for Aadhaar. Exceptions are handled by the Aadhaar software.

  • An Aadhaar card might take up to 90 days to arrive.
