Amit Shah Inaugurates Dairy Cooperative Conclave in Gangtok

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the dairy cooperative conclave of the eastern and northeastern zones in Sikkim today. The conclave is organized by National Cooperative Dairy of India in association with Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers Union at Manan Kendra, Gangtok.

Union Home & Co-operation Minister Amit Shah unveiled a statue of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel at Rajbhavan in Gangtok following which he inaugurated The Cooperative Dairy Conclave – 2022 of the Eastern and North-Eastern Regions.

He said that the "real development" of the northeast started only after Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014. 

The home minister further told media that PM Modi-led government has decided to create 65,000 active Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).

The day marked the inauguration of phase 1 and kicking-off of the phase 2 of the Manure Management Project. 

Under phase 1, biogas fuel plants have been published in over 120 houses connected with this program. 

The initiative of biogas fuel by The National Dairy Development Board was also recognized at the IDF World Dairy Summit 2022. 

Several awards were also given to various states and dairy foundations at the event for quality milk production. The Milk Union of Sikkim got the first price for providing the Indian Army with the best quality milk. 

Later in the day, Shah is set to meet BJP's core group in Sikkim before leaving for Assam. Official sources have said that Shah will attend a series of official meetings on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
