Amit Shah Inaugurates Development Projects Worth Rs 52 crore in Nagaland

Union Home Minister said that Nagaland is a land where different tribes' cultures collide. It is one of the world's 25 most famous biodiversity hotspots, endowing it with enormous tourism potential.

Entire North East states are now on the path of development because of central government's development approach

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated five different development projects worth Rs.52 crore in Nagaland, according to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Several dignitaries attended the event, including Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. In his speech, the Union Home Minister stated that Nagaland is also well-known throughout the world for its people, culture, and the equal status accorded to women.

 

Development projects include Virtual Reality (VR) laboratories in 42 government higher secondary schools at a cost of about Rs 8 crore, Atal Tinkering Labs built at a cost of Rs 1 crore 80 lakh in 9 government higher secondary schools, 12.5 megawatt (MV) sub-station at Chiephobozou at a cost of Rs 14 crore, trekking and base camp at Mount Saramati, Thanamir village and Kiphire and two Lane bridge on Doyang River at a cost of Rs 28 crore near to the Governor's Camp Lifayan

Amit shah stated that because of the central government's development approach to the entire Northeast, all North East states are now on the path of development. Shah stated that once upon a time, the entire North East was experiencing unrest as a result of extremist groups, but Prime Minister has not only provided physical connectivity to the region, but has also connected hearts and bridged the mental distance between the rest of the country and the North East.

According to the Union Home Minister, the government led by Prime Minister has succeeded in establishing the three P's of Peace, Progress, and Prosperity in Nagaland. He stated that PM has taken several initiatives to bring the North East into the mainstream of India. He stated that Modi has visited the various states of the Northeast more than 51 times in the last eight years and has also made a very successful effort to connect this region with the mainstream of India by granting large infrastructure projects to the Northeast, which has yielded results.

 

Amit Shah stated that the funds allocated to Nagaland by the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi have increased fourfold from 2014 to 2022 when compared to the previous central government's allocation from 2004 to 2014. He stated that the 15th Finance Commission has made a provision of Rs. 4,773 crore for Nagaland in 2022-23, whereas only Rs. 1,283 crore was allocated in 2009-10, and that Nagaland has also received special assistance of Rs. 219 crore in 2021-22.

Fifteen national highway projects totaling over 266 kilometres and costing Rs. 4,127 crore have been inaugurated. He stated that the Jal Jeevan Mission has provided tap water to 2.18 lakh families in the state's inaccessible areas. Aside from that, the Government of India is covering up to Rs. 5 lakh in medical expenses for over three lakh people through the Ayushman Yojana. Shah stated that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is providing housing to 54,636 families, with 15,000 of these homes already completed.

 

Furthermore, for the past two and a half years, the Government of India has provided five kilogrammes of rice per month to every poor person in Nagaland at no cost.
