Anand Mahindra Shares Thrilling Electric Guitar Version of 'Jana Gana Mana' Played by Nagaland Girl

The national anthem is a track that unites all Indians in a sense of reverence and national pride, a special rendition of which was played at the ongoing Hornbill Festival in Nagaland earlier this week, and has left everyone in awe.

As the crowd and dignitaries including Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor of Nagaland Jagdish Mukhi, and others stood in respect, musician Imnainla Jamir played Jana Gana Mana on an electric guitar.

Since the video surfaced online, Jamir has gained immense popularity on social media for her terrific performance at the renowned event. She is a member of Nagaland-based music band - The Fantastic Company.

Business tycoon Anand Mahindra tweeted the video from the festival with caption, "This clip is proof of just how Incredible India is. The Incredible diversity of co-existing cultures. The #HornbillFestival is so unique that it can only go from strength to strength…".

The tweet has received thousands of likes and more than a million views till now. "Most beautiful piece of guitar I have heard.. didn't think our national anthem could have been played like this," a Twitter user commented in response. Another user remarked, "This is the coolest Jana Gana Mana I've heard so far!"

A user named Satish further asked the latter, "Amazing, goosebumps! Sir, who is this young lady? Any links to more of her playing the guitar?"

Meanwhile, the annual Hornbill Festival, now in its 23rd year, is taking place in Kohima, Nagaland, from December 1 to December 10. Along with the Governor and Chief Minister of Nagaland, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar launched the celebration at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama. The State Departments of Tourism, Art, and Culture are in charge of organizing the event.

Previously, yet another video of 12 refugee individuals from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Cameroon singing the national anthem on August 15 this year to commemorate Indian Independence Day had gone viral. Indian musician Ricky Kej, who won two prestigious Grammy awards this year, created the original performance.

On the other hand, Mahindra, who is an active social media user, often makes headlines for posting unique and inspirational content and enjoys a vast online following.

Earlier, the latter grabbed news for sharing a clip of a unique EV vehicle. In the video, a man can be seen riding the 6-seater vehicle and claims that it cost just between Rs 10,000 - Rs 12,000 and can travel up to 150 kilometres after charging. Additionally, he asserted that the vehicle can be charged for merely Rs 10.
