The Arunachal Pradesh government unveiled an online app and portal on January 15, 2024, dedicated to facilitating the Aatmanirbhar schemes. The initiative, spearheaded by the Agriculture Marketing Board, aims to simplify the application process for various schemes, such as Aatmanirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY), Aatmanirbhar Bhagwani Yojana (ANBY), Aatmanirbhar Matsya Palan Yojana (ANMPY), and Aatmanirbhar Pashu Palan Yojana (ANPPY).

Aatmanirbhar Schemes Embracing Technology for Governance

Agriculture Minister Tage Taki, during the launch of the app, emphasised the significance of technology in enhancing governance. He stated that the online platform would serve as an additional channel for application submissions, complementing the existing offline procedures. Addressing concerns about limited high-speed internet services in the state, Taki assured that physical applications would continue to be accepted, ensuring inclusivity.

The newly launched portal boasts a real-time application tracking system, allowing beneficiaries to monitor the status of their applications in real time. This feature aims to bring transparency and efficiency to the overall process, providing citizens with direct insights into the progress of their applications.

Aatmanirbhar Schemes: Arunachal Agro Mart E-commerce Platform

In conjunction with the Aatmanirbhar schemes, Agriculture Minister Taki inaugurated the Arunachal Agro Mart website and portal. Operating as an e-commerce platform, the Arunachal Agro Mart is designed to promote local produce and support entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. The platform will initially focus on packed food products with a validity of 3-6 months, encouraging scientific packaging practices.

Okit Palling, Chief Executive Officer of the Agriculture Marketing Board, expressed the commitment to assisting entrepreneurs in adopting scientific packaging practices. The board will provide market-ready labeling services and facilitate the creation of a one-time product portfolio for entrepreneurs to upload to the website, ensuring a seamless experience for both sellers and buyers.

Aatmanirbhar Schemes: Digital Future for Agriculture

As the state transitions towards a digital future, these initiatives are expected to benefit both the government and citizens. By creating a more efficient and transparent ecosystem for agricultural schemes and commerce, Arunachal Pradesh is positioning itself at the forefront of digital governance in the agricultural sector.

The launch ceremony saw the presence of Agriculture Commissioner Bidol Tayeng and Fisheries Commissioner Saugat Biswas, along with officials from agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and animal husbandry and dairy development departments, emphasising the collective commitment to these transformative initiatives.
