Ayushman Bharat Scheme to Now Cover 28 Lakh Families in Haryana
Ayushman Bharat Yojana has two goals: one is to build a network of health and wellness infrastructure across the country to provide comprehensive primary healthcare services, and the other is to provide insurance coverage to at least 40% of India's population, which is severely underserved in secondary and tertiary care.
Ayushman Bharat Yojana, also known as the National Health Protection Scheme, is a programme that aims to create a new India that is healthy, capable, and content. Nearly 28 lakh families in Haryana will benefit from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana due to the state government's decision to broaden the program's eligibility requirements.
The statement read, "Haryana is also ensuring that its benefits reach every verified eligible beneficiary as per the 2011 Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) data. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Ayushman Bharat scheme in 2018 to provide better health facilities to the country's needy and economically disadvantaged sections.
According to the statement, the Haryana government has begun providing the program's benefits to needy families not listed in the 2011 SECC data. The eligible annual income threshold for BPL families to be included in the programme has been raised from Rs. 1.20 lakh to Rs. 1.80 lakh by the Manohar Lal Khattar-led government, it was noted.
According to the statement, the state government would be responsible for covering the cost of these families' inclusion. According to the Center's regulations, this programme covered 15,51,798 families in Haryana, but after the benefit of the programme was expanded, it was announced that 28 lakh families in the state would now receive benefits.
According to the statement, all these families will be eligible for free medical services up to Rs 5 lakh under the programme. 28,89,036 Ayushman Bharat cards have been produced in Haryana, according to official statistics.
In the state, there are 176 government hospitals and 539 private hospitals have been impanelled under the programme. 5,51,480 claims totaling more than Rs 580.77 crore have been settled so far under the scheme.
