According to the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), while the banks are closed on public holidays, regional holidays are restricted only to certain states & decided by the respective state government.
Out of 21 days of holidays in October, only 14 of them are holidays because of an occasion, & the other 7 days are weekend leaves, which encompass Sundays, as well as the second & fourth Saturday of the month.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) mandated holidays are grouped under categories of the “Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act”, “Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act & Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday” & “Banks’ Closing of Accounts”.
