BJP’s Kisan Morcha Goes Nationwide to Promote Organic Farming and Millets
The Kisan Morcha is working to raise awareness about the importance of organic farming and the benefits of using millets in agriculture.
The Bharatiya Janata Party's agricultural wing, the Kisan Morcha, is carrying out a nationwide campaign to limit use of insecticides and chemical fertilizers in agriculture.
They are undertaking a series of 5 kilometer yatras in over 1 lakh villages and aim to reach out to 1 crore people to spread their message. The yatras are being conducted along riversides, starting with the Ganga, and will be carried out by the state convenors and co-convenors of the wing.
In addition to the yatras, the Kisan Morcha is also organizing a training seminar for BJP workers on February 13th. This seminar will be led by officials of the wing, with the participation of scientists, nutritionists, and other experts.
The objective of the seminar is to educate BJP workers about the use of millets and organic farming, and to help them pass on this knowledge to farmers in their respective districts. After the seminar, similar sessions will be held in all districts across the country.
Next month, in Uttar Pradesh's Shukratal, a jan jagran campaign will be launched with the participation of key BJP leaders including CM Yogi Adityanath and party president JP Nadda. This campaign will involve a gaon parikrama yatra and will use pamphlets, kisan choupals, and discussions to encourage farmers to adopt natural farming practices and reduce their use of chemicals.
The Kisan Morcha is also undertaking a week-long campaign to educate farmers about the benefits they can receive from the Budget. This includes the creation of cooperatives in all gram panchayats, a huge allocation for millets, and ease of business for fisheries and husbandries. The aim of this campaign is to help farmers understand how they can benefit from the government's initiatives and policies.
Overall, the Kisan Morcha's efforts are aimed at promoting organic farming and reducing the use of harmful chemicals in agriculture, with the ultimate goal of improving the health and well-being of farmers and consumers.
