BPCL Kochi Refinery Wins IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj Award

The prestigious IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award - 2021 has been awarded to BPCL Kochi Refinery in the Manufacturing Category. At a function in Mumbai, Ajith Kumar K, Executive Director (Kochi Refinery), along with senior officials, received the award from Harsh Mariwala, Chairman, Marico Ltd.
The award recognizes excellence in Quality Management in the manufacturing industry, with visionary leadership, customer-focused excellence, a focus on success, sustainability, organizational governance, and ethical behaviour for delivering and balancing value for key stakeholders, as a means of building loyalty and contributing to the growth of the economy and society.
The award citation, signed by Niraj Bajaj, Chairman of the IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award Trust and Director of Bajaj Auto Limited, recognized Kochi Refinery's best quality and excellence practices as a leadership-driven Learning Culture, a Leadership-driven Culture of Creative Thinking, resulting in disruptive Innovation Solutions, Structure Benchmarking and Adoption of New Technologies, Effective and Efficient Knowledge Management.
The award recognized Kochi Refinery's stringent safety standards, commitment to water conservation, and efforts to improve the quality of life for rural schoolchildren through CSR initiatives.
The IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) was established in 1996 by the IMC Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mumbai, to recognize performance excellence in Indian organizations.

It was later renamed Kochi Refineries Limited, and today, with a capacity of 3,10,000 barrels per day, it is a frontline entity as a unit of the Fortune 500 Oil and Gas Maharatna Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.
