Yesterday, on March 25th, 2023, the Krishi Sanyantra Mela began with much anticipation and excitement. Today marks the second day of the agricultural fair currently being held in the Kuruda Field, Balasore. The event has attracted a large number of farmers who are eager to learn about the latest farming techniques and equipment.

The fair is an excellent opportunity for farmers to gain knowledge and insight into modern agricultural practices. Many exhibitors have set up stalls showcasing new farming equipment, fertilizers, and seeds. In addition, experts from various fields of agriculture are present to offer their advice and share their experiences with the farmers.

Several prominent personalities including Professor HK Patra, the Dean of Agriculture College at OUAT Bhubaneswar, Dr. Swagatika Sahu, the Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Balasore, Dr. Arvind Das, the Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Bhadrak, and Dr. Sanghamitra Patnaik, the Senior Scientist & Head of KVK Mayurbhanj-1.

In addition to the informative sessions and felicitation ceremony, a panel discussion was also held to discuss the ways of doubling the farmers' income through sustainable agricultural practices and technology. The discussion was highly informative and enlightening, shedding light on the various methods and strategies that farmers can adopt to improve their income and ensure sustainable agriculture.

Later in the day, the third technical session on tractor maintenance (conducted by Gandhar oil) commenced at the fair. As the session concluded, an additional 50 farmers were felicitated for their remarkable contribution to agriculture. In addition to these highlights, the second day of the fair witnessed several important discussions that are poised to benefit farmers significantly. These discussions centered around diverse topics and are expected to provide valuable insights and practical tips to farmers to enhance their agricultural practices.

The primary goal of today's program is to promote and encourage the agriculture and allied sectors of Odisha and drive further growth in the agricultural sector of the Balasore district. Participants from various parts of the state, particularly Balasore, including farmers, agricultural scientists, engineers, and officials, have converged at the fair to exchange ideas and learn about the latest developments in agriculture.

By providing a platform for farmers and agricultural experts to come together and discuss new technologies, best practices, and other emerging trends, the fair aims to catalyze positive change and create new opportunities for growth in the agricultural sector.
