CBSE Class 10th, 12th Results 2022: Will CBSE Accept #BestofEitherTermSubjectWise?

Students are urging the CBSE to accept the best of either term result as the final result computation technique by using the hashtag #CBSEacceptBestOfEitherTerms on Twitter in advance of the release of the CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th Board results 2022. Class 10 and Class 12 were split into two terms for the first time in CBSE history. The curriculum was divided into two halves. During terms 1 and 2, the first half of the syllabus was covered in questions. Examinations for term 2 were subjective; term 1 exams were MCQ-based. The Board decided to arrange one exam before the typical exam season after having to announce results without exams the previous year.

According to CBSE's official message, results will cover term 1, term 2, and student performance on internal exams and in practice. The board did not, however, define which word would be given how much weight. Students who missed one of the two terms for a legitimate reason will also receive their results, according to CBSE.

What Are the Student’s Demands?

Students also demand that CBSE give an internal assessment, which will rank students based on their year-long performance, the highest weight. Additionally, some students have suggested splitting the remaining 50% across terms 1 and 2, with the highest weighting going to an internal assessment that might account for up to 50% of the grade. Students contend that to decrease the impact of the epidemic, grades might also be based on the student's performance during the best term. This indicates that a standard formula can be applied, and each student can enter their term 1 or term 2 marks based on how well they performed. Additionally, this would guarantee that students who missed one of the two terms received a comparable evaluation system.

CBSE’s Decision:

The weighting of the term 1 and term 2 exams has not yet been made clear by CBSE. The cumulative mark sheets for the term 1 and term 2 exams will be released separately by CBSE; the term 2 marks will not be announced separately. CBSE Urges UGC to Continue Admission Process After the Results are Announced

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approached the organization that regulates higher education, the University Grants Commission (UGC), to organize their annual calendar by the timing of the CBSE result announcement in 2022. The advisory will be released to all universities by next week, according to UGC officials. The Board informed the UGC in a letter dated June 28 that "it has come to the notice that several universities in India, particularly in Maharashtra, have started registration in undergraduate programs for the session (2022-23) and their deadline is in the first week of July.

Therefore, it is suggested that all universities be instructed to set the deadline for undergraduate admission while keeping in mind the date when the CBSE announces the results of Class XII. Additionally, the Board stated that it took around a month to prepare the results.
