Delhi government will provide a 5,500 subsidy to the first 10,000 people who buy e-bikes in the city. According to the Delhi EV Policy, the first 1,000 purchasers of passenger e-cycles will receive an additional 2,000 subsidy.
The four brands that have received approval for e-cycles are Hero Lectro E-cycles, Nexzu Mobility Limited, Stryder Cycle Private Limited, and Motorvolt Mobility Private Limited.
"They have provided us with a list of their dealer outlets and available stocks on the back end. Whenever a sale occurs, the dealer outlets with logins will upload the buyer's information, and the subsidy will be credited to the buyer's Aadhaar-linked bank account "According to an official, the subsidy would be credited within four to five days.
Delhi Government had previously introduced a single-window procedure for installing EV chargers in private and semi-public places in Delhi. The government's proposal to install at least 30,000 charging stations throughout Delhi, according to the government, will revolutionize the use of fleet cars and light electric vehicles (2 and 3-wheelers).
Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot had previously announced that the EV subsidy portal was now operational. "Delhi! The portal is now operational, and you can now apply for passenger and cargo e-cycle subsidies. The first 1000 applicants will receive a bonus of 2,000! Discover eligible brands and dealers. Let's #changedelhi! ". He tweeted.
The Delhi government is strongly encouraging the use of electric vehicles in the capital to reduce pollution levels.
Under its EV program, the government hopes to have 25% of new car registrations in Delhi be electric vehicles by 2024. Since the EV policy's implementation in August 2020, electric vehicle sales in Delhi have accounted for more than 12% of total vehicle sales.
