CM Jagan Directs Officials to Provide Relief to All Rain-Affected Farmers
Andhra Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy instructs officials to provide relief to all the farmers impacted by the rains.
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed the officials to provide relief to all the impacted farmers who suffered crop damage or loss due to the untimely rainfall.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister said during the review meeting held with the officials to evaluate the effect of rainfall on crops at his camp office that not a single affected farmer should be left out by the government’s relief in the state.
Based on preliminary reports, the officials briefed the Chief Minister on the extent of damage across districts.
He instructed to acquire the reports of the damage or loss to the farmers from the village secretariats regularly. And, to purchase the soaked and discoloured paddy from the farmers.
He advised the officials to accomplish the computation of crop damage or loss and maintain the list of the impacted farmers. He also said to put the lists on display at the village secretariats for social audit to discover if any name of the impacted farmers is missing. Once such issues are brought to the notice of the officials, they would accommodate those names too in the lists for relief.
Furthermore, Reddy asked officials to accelerate the paddy purchase for the rabi season and said there should be no complaint from any quarter that the government was not purchasing paddy from the farmers.
He also said that officials must set up a toll-free number so that the farmers could lodge complaints. And, analyzing the situation on a regular basis and rectifying the problems spontaneously.
In addition to this, he said, "Work in such a manner that the farmers feel happy for the kind of support they are receiving from the state government."
