CM-Kisan Yojana: Govt Allocates Rs 1,935 crore for 2024-25; Landless Farmers to Get Rs 12,500

The Odisha government is set to begin the process of including new farmers under the CM-KISAN scheme, as announced by Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo. The government has allocated Rs 1,935 crore for the scheme in the fiscal year 2024-25. Deputy CM Singh Deo, who also heads the Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment department, shared this information in a written reply during the State Assembly session.
The CM-KISAN scheme will be launched soon. This scheme is aimed at empowering the state's small and marginal farmers as well as landless agricultural households. Farmers eligible for the scheme can apply through the CM-KISAN portal to receive the benefits.
The scheme, which replaces the KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) scheme, was introduced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in his inaugural budget speech.
Under the CM-KISAN scheme, each farmer will receive Rs 4,000 annually in two instalments. Additionally, landless agricultural families will be provided with Rs 12,500 in three instalments.
The allocation of Rs 1,935 crore for the 2024-25 fiscal year underscores the government's commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of farmers across Odisha.
