CM Naveen Patnaik Inaugurates Krushi Odisha 2024, Honouring Women in Agriculture
The Krushi Odisha 2024 celebrates the role of women in farming. The three-day event kicks off in Bhubaneswar after the inauguration by CM Naveen Patnaik.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Krushi Odisha 2024 on January 12, 2024, an event aimed at acknowledging and celebrating the contributions of women in the field of Agriculture and allied sectors. The program, organized by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, unfolds at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar from January 12 to January 14, 2024.
Recognizing Women's Role
The theme for this year's Krushi Odisha is 'Celebrating Women in Agriculture'. The primary objective is to provide a platform for interaction and collaboration among women farmers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Women Agri-entrepreneurs, market players, and service providers.
Agenda for Empowerment
The event sheds light on the initiatives undertaken by the Odisha government to foster agricultural development, ensure food security, and promote economic growth. The agenda includes showcasing best practices, emerging technologies, and factors influencing the value-chain management of agricultural communities.
Four-fold Objectives
- Krushi Odisha 2024 aims to display the best products and practices of women farmers, emphasizing emerging technologies that enhance farm profitability.
- Facilitating a deeper understanding of various factors and interactions involved in the value chain management of agricultural communities.
- Initiating a platform for interface and linkage among market players, service providers, agri-preneurs, and businesses is a key focus.
- Providing a space for institutional interaction and partnerships to drive agricultural development.
Diverse Participation
With an expected attendance of over 5000 women farmers, 2000 women SHG members, and agri-entrepreneurs from various parts of Odisha, the event promises a diverse and enriching experience.
The event will also feature engaging activities such as quizzes, debates, experimental water games, storytelling, local farmer songs, a farmer facilitation center, an experiential center, and a postcard exchange.
Technical Sessions and Exhibitions
The event will host 17 technical sessions in collaboration with different state and central government departments, ICAR and CGIAR institutes, non-government organizations, farmer-scientist interactions, seminars, farmer facilitation centers, experiential learning centers, and exhibitions showcasing farm machinery and produce.
