CM Yogi Adityanath Gives Holi Gift to Farmers! Flags Off 77 Tractors for Farm Machinery Banks
Yogi Adityanath, the CM of Uttar Pradesh, flagged off 77 tractors for farm machinery banks established in cooperative sugarcane and sugar mill societies.
He also asserted that no farmer in Uttar Pradesh had become helpless and attempted suicide in the previous six years. "Today is going to be a historic day for the sugarcane farmers," Yogi said, "because on the eve of Holi, Rs 2 lakh crores will be sent directly to the farmers' bank accounts through DBT."
"We have set free the sugarcane farmers from the clutches of the brokers, and nowadays the farmers do not have to roam around in search of the slip since their slip arrives on their smartphone," the Chief Minister added.
He stated that tractors and other equipment are being delivered to the state's 77 sugarcane committees today. Sugarcane farmers' joy will be multiplied by receiving such a gift on the eve of Holi.
"We've all heard about the predicament of sugarcane farmers. Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office, the farmer has been included in any government's agenda for the first time and has begun to benefit from government programmes. Every farmer who previously relied on moneylenders can now take advantage of the Soil Health Card, Kisan Bima Yojana, Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi," CM Yogi stated.
He stated that 2.60 crore farmers in the state are now using the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi facility, adding, "Within the last three and a half years, we have done the work of transferring an amount of Rs 51,000 crores to their accounts."
The CM went on to say that sugarcane farmers' efforts have resulted in an increase of 10 tonnes of sugarcane per hectare. Aside from that, the area of sugarcane production in the state has increased to 8 lakh hectares today. He also highlighted the state of the sugar mills and agriculture sector during the Covid-19 period. Notably, sugarcane farmers produce the majority of the country's green ethanol.
According to the CM, Uttar Pradesh is currently the country's largest producer of ethanol. He stated that because of mechanized farming, the stubble is now mixed with the soil rather than being burned, which contributes significantly to the farm's fertility. Farming is progressing due to mechanization. According to CM Yogi, 105 of the state's 119 mills pay the sugarcane price within ten days.
Among those present were Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development Minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narayan, Minister of State Sanjay Singh Gangwar, Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra, Agricultural Production Commissioner Manoj Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi, and Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad.
