Codissia Complex Hosts Commencement of Agri Expo

Codissia has organized Agri Intex, an agricultural fair in Coimbatore from July 14 to 17, featuring model farms, machinery demonstrations, native Indian cow breeds, and live demonstrations of automation and drones in agriculture.

Agri Intex, an agricultural fair was scheduled to be organized by the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) from July 14 to 17 in this location.

According to K. Dhinesh Kumar, the event's chairman, a press conference was held on Tuesday where he mentioned that the upcoming agricultural fair will take place at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex. The event hosted a total of 485 participants, utilizing an exhibition area of approximately 3.5 lakh sq. ft, which encompasses both indoor and outdoor spaces.

Noteworthy attractions at the fair will include model farms, machinery demonstrations, a dedicated pavilion called AnimaEx that showcases indigenous Indian cow breeds, as well as live demonstrations highlighting the application of automation and drones in agriculture.

He also stated that this year, the focus will be on drones as the application of drones has increased in agriculture in various activities like flower picking, land surveying, spraying fertilizers, etc.

In addition to this, the 21st edition of the expo also showcases the latest domestic and international agricultural technologies.

Apart from companies in India, those from countries including Korea, Israel, Sweden, Japan, and France are participating in the event.

The entry fee is ₹50 for a general visit and free for the farmers, who have to produce an identity document.

With more than 450 stalls, the exhibition showcased innovative drone tools, micro-irrigation systems, solar pumps, precision farming, animal husbandry automation, farm mechanization, value-added products, pumps, post-harvest technology, fertilizers, and seeds.

Agricultural experts, seed producers, food processing industries, and investors will attend the event.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) vice-chancellor V Geethalakshmi and Codissia members also marked their presence at the inaugural ceremony.
