Ahead of the 'Kisan Garjana' rally being organized at the Ramleela Ground in the national capital on Monday, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory. The gathering will take place on December 19 from 11 am to 6 pm, according to the advisory, while it is sponsored by the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), a division of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

According to the organizers, 50-55 thousand people are anticipated to attend the rally through 700 to 800 buses and 3,500 to 4,000 private vehicles.

Significant traffic backups are likely to occur in the region due to the large attendance of farmers at the rally. The Traffic Police has implemented several limitations, regulations, and detours starting at 9 am on Monday in order to facilitate vehicle traffic and ensure smooth passage for commuters.

Delhi Traffic Police took to Twitter on Sunday and informed, "Traffic Advisory On the occasion of Kisan Garjana Rally, being organized at Ramleela Ground on 19.12.22, elaborate traffic arrangements have been made. Citizens are advised to plan their commute accordingly."

The advisory listed several locations as the divert points including - Bhavbhuti Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Ajmeri Gate, Chaman Lal Marg, Delhi Gate, JLN Marg, roundabout Kamala Market to Hamdard Chowk, and Paharganj Chowk.

The alert warns that traffic limits, regulations, or detours may be implemented on the Ranjeet Singh flyover between Barakhamba Road and Guru Nanak Chowk, between Minto Road and the roundabout at Kamla Market, Vivekanand Marg, and JLN Marg (Delhi gate to Guru Nanak Chowk).

The Police issued a few directions for the general public and suggested avoiding the indicated highways or areas, urging commuters to plan their trips accordingly.

The commuters heading to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, and ISBT should depart with enough time to account for any delays on the route, said the police.

Additional locations including the roundabouts connecting Kamla Market to Guru Nanak Chowk, Chaman Lal Marg, Ajmeri Gate toward Asaf Ali Road, Paharganj Chowk, and Jandewalan, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road to Ajmeri Gate, may be subject to the similar restrictions on Monday starting at 9 am.

The advisory further urged people to take public transit in order to reduce car congestion. "Only leave your cars in spaces that are marked for such use. Avoid parking beside the road as it disrupts the flow of ordinary traffic", it added.

Meanwhile, the BKS has announced that the 'Kisan Garjana' protest march is being held in Delhi to call for various relief measures for the farmers in order to improve their financial condition.
