Delhi's Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Monday announced the closure of all schools except for Classes 10 and 12 till November 10. Moreover, he has implemented the Odd-Even rule for all private vehicles in order to promote carpooling and public transport usage. A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was conducted just before the announcement.

Earlier, the government asked primary schools to remain shut for a week. However, now, all classes are going to be conducted virtually.

Moreover, BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel cars will remain banned in the capital, and construction work needs to stop.

How Does Delhi's Odd-Even Rule Work?

If there is an odd number at the end of the number plate, then that vehicle can be used on an odd date. Likewise, the same rule will be applied for even numbered vehicles. There is a restriction on the entry of trucks except for those carrying essential commodities.

Delhi is under Centre's Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) on Sunday amid 'severe' air quality.

Soon, work-from-home recommendations will comply in government and private offices with 50 percent of employees.
