It should be noted that the central government has launched a national database for unorganized employees in order to improve the overall welfare of crores of these workers of the country.  The e-Shram Portal was unveiled on August 26, 2021, and the government also provides workers with the e-Shram card.

PMBSY scheme benefits

Workers must now be aware of the PMSBY scheme. According to financialservices.gov.in, the scheme is available to people between the age group of 18 to 70 who have a bank account and give their approval to join / enable auto-debit on or before May 31 for the coverage period from June 1 to May 31 on an annual renewal basis.

The annual premium of Rs.12 is to be deducted from the account holder's bank account in one installment using the 'auto-debit' facility. The scheme is offered by Public Sector General Insurance Companies or any other General Insurance Company willing to sell the product on similar terms with the relevant approvals and tie up with banks for this purpose.
