EPFO Update: Know How to File e-Nomination for Your PF Account

An employee can nominate any member of his family using the online nomination process. If this is not done, the employee's PF account balance will be frozen and the family will have trouble accessing its funds.

There is important news for people who are members of the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF): All subscribers must submit an e-nomination form in order to verify their PF balance, according to the Employees Provident Fund Organization.

An employee can nominate any member of his family using the online nomination process. If this is not done, the employee's PF account balance will be frozen and the family will have trouble accessing its funds if they die away in the future for whatever reason.

Step-by-step guide on how to file for an e-nomination:

Step 1: Go to epfindia.gov.in and log in using your Universal Account Number (UAN) and password.

STEP 2: Select the "For Employees" tab from the drop-down menu under the "Service" tab.

STEP 3: Click on the "Manage" tab, choose "e-nomination," and then type in your current and permanent addresses.

Step 4: To change the family statement, choose "Yes."

STEP 5: Enter the nominee's information, and then click "Save".

Step 6: Select the ‘Proceed’ option.

Step 7: Type in your Aadhaar number and the registered mobile number.

According to PTI, the EPFO announced on July 20 that it had gained 16.82 lakh new subscribers.  

In May 2022, a rise of 7.62 lakh net subscribers from the net subscription in the month of May 2021 the previous year.
