New Traffic Rules: Even Wearing a Helmet Will Not Save You From Getting Fined

The new Motor Vehicle Act stipulates that overloading a vehicle may result in a heavy penalty of Rs 20,000.

The new traffic regulations allow for the deduction of Rs. 2000 challan even after wearing a helmet.  Yes, after hearing this, you might be wondering why.

So, if a rider violates Rule 194D of the New Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) by not wearing a helmet strip while driving a motorcycle or scooter, a challan for Rs 1000 may be issued against him. However, you will need to pay a challan for Rs 2,000.

In addition, Article 194D MVA, a rider may be fined more than Rs 1000 if they are found to be using a defective helmet or one that has a BIS registration. Even if you are wearing a helmet at the time, you may still be required to pay a challan for Rs 2000 for breaking the new rules.
