The Canadian MP and New Democratic Party (NDP) leader urged PM Justin Trudeau to urgently condemn the violence on Republic Day. 'I am highly troubled about the brutality in India against farmers. Those calling for damage to farmers must be kept accountable and it is important to defend the right to peaceful protest. I immediately call on Justin Trudeau to condemn the brutality,' he added, expressing profound concern about the violence during the tractor rally of the protesting farmers.

Today, on Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary, the protesting farmers' unions will observe 'Sadbhavna Diwas' and hold a day-long fast. They have also reported that as more farmers join them in the coming days, the protest of the farmers would gather traction and power.

The argument came when more farmer outfits began mobilizing more batches of farmers from Haryana and Punjab to go to the boundaries of Delhi to join the ongoing movement against the farm laws as the government directed the sites of protest to be cleared after the violence of Republic Day.

Just when it seems that after the R-Day abuse, the farmers' protest was thinning out, thousands gathered at Muzaffarnagar for a kisan mahapanchayat and declared that from Saturday they would start going towards the Ghazipur border.
