Farmers to Shine as Special Guests on 75th Republic Day
To display inclusivity, this year's Republic Day Parade highlights women's contributions and honors a diverse array of achievers, with a spotlight on farmers as special guests.
The 75th Republic Day Parade is set to be held at Kartavya Path on January 26, 2024, with a strong focus on women's empowerment and the inclusion of diverse achievements. Under the themes 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat - Loktantra ki Matruka,' Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane announced that women marching contingents will dominate the parade, showcasing India's rich cultural diversity and progress. This aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision that 'India is truly a mother of democracy.'
The parade will open with 100 women artists playing traditional Indian musical instruments, an unprecedented spectacle. The music of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, and more will resonate as the parade commences.
A significant highlight will be an all-women Tri-Service contingent marching down Kartavya Path for the first time, alongside CAPF contingents featuring women personnel. Defence Secretary Aramane expressed enthusiasm, declaring this year's Republic Day parade as the "best representation of women."

Chief Guest and Special Participation
French President Mr Emmanuel Macron will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. A 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band from France, along with French Air Force aircraft, will participate in the parade's Fly-past.
The parade aims to embody the Government's vision of Jan Bhagidari, with around 13,000 special guests invited. These distinguished individuals, celebrated for excellence in various fields and contributions to government schemes, will be seated prominently at Kartavya Path.
Farmers in the Limelight
Highlighting the Government's commitment to recognising diverse contributions, 1,500 farmers and their spouses are among the special guests this year. This move follows the invitation of 500 farmers during last year's Independence Day celebrations, emphasising the importance of honoring those who contribute significantly to the nation's agricultural backbone.
Diverse Representation
The list of special guests spans various fields, including Sarpanches of Vibrant Villages, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan women workers, electronic manufacturing sector representatives, and winners of international sports events. Yoga teachers from Ayushman Bharat, Paralympic medalists, and winners of the National School Band Competition will also be in attendance.
