Flower Extravaganza Blooms in Chennai and Delhi: Semmozhi Poonga and Amrit Udyan Welcome Visitors

Chennai's Semmozhi Poonga, is set to transform into a vibrant haven for flora enthusiasts as it prepares to host the Kalaignar centenary live plants show starting February 10. The ten-day extravaganza promises to showcase over 12 lakh meticulously nurtured plants, including a diverse array ranging from petunias to tulips, all brought forth by the diligent efforts of the Horticulture department.

Spread across three acres of the picturesque Semmozhi Poonga, this event commemorates the centenary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, offering visitors a splendid visual treat amidst nature's finest creations. With ticketed entry priced at Rs 150 for adults and Rs 75 for children under 12, attendees can expect a seamless online booking experience. The show, open from 10 am to 6 pm daily, invites patrons to immerse themselves in the enchanting world of botanical wonders.

Agriculture Secretary Apoorva highlighted the meticulous planning behind the scenes, with plants nurtured since December and carefully acclimatised for the grand showcase. Moreover, plans are underway to allow visitors to purchase the showcased plants, extending the floral joy beyond the event's conclusion.

Delhi's Amrit Udyan Blossoms with Udyan Utsav

Meanwhile, in the heart of Delhi, the historic Amrit Udyan, formerly known as Mughal Gardens, welcomes visitors to its enchanting Udyan Utsav. Since February 2, this verdant oasis has been abuzz with the vibrant hues of tulips, roses, daffodils, and an exquisite array of lilies, showcasing the finest landscaping marvels against the majestic backdrop of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Among the highlights of this year's Udyan Utsav are the Central Lawn, adorned with rare and exotic flowers, the Long Garden boasting hanging gardens, and the Circular Garden featuring a stepped landscape of tulips. Visitors are also treated to attractions such as the signature rose garden, a Van Vatika showcasing wooden structures, and a designated selfie point capturing the essence of Amrit Udyan.

To enhance the visitor experience, a special shuttle service is available, ensuring seamless exploration of the garden's breathtaking vistas. From floral enthusiasts to history buffs, Amrit Udyan's Udyan Utsav promises an unforgettable journey through nature's timeless beauty and historical grandeur.
