Forbes' Richest Indians 2022: Gautam Adani Tops the List; Check Top 10 Billionaires Here

The names of 100 richest Indians according to Forbes 2022 are finally out. According to the list, the overall wealth of these top 100 individuals has increased by $25 billion to reach a massive $800 billion.

The names of 100 richest Indians according to Forbes 2022 are finally out. According to the list, the overall wealth of these top 100 individuals has increased by $25 billion to reach a massive $800 billion. The weaker rupee, which plummeted by 10 per cent during the same period, was the biggest drag on wealth growth, despite the stock market being slightly down for a year ago.

Industrialist Mukesh Ambani is ranked second in the list, one rank below Gautam Adani, who took the first place.

According to Forbes, the success was largely attributable to infrastructure mogul Gautam Adani's record-breaking achievement, which altered the hierarchy at the top for the first time since 2008.

The richest person in India is worth $150 billion, and the richest woman is worth $16.4 billion. Interestingly, nine women have got their name on the list this time, with $1.9 billion being the threshold to be included on the list. Check the entire list of top 10 Indian billionaires here:

1. Gautam Adani: The Adani Group's chairman has a total net worth of Rs 1,211,460.11 crore. In 2021, he tripled his wealth, and in 2022, he overtook the previous richest person in India, i.e. Mukesh Ambani.

2. Mukesh Ambani: The chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries enjoys a net worth of Rs 710,723.26 crore, and this is for the first time since 2013 that his ranking fell to second position from the top.

3. Radhakishan Damani: Damani, whose total net worth lies at Rs 222,908,66 crore, is the owner of the DMart network of stores. In 2002, Damani opened his first store and today there are 271 DMart outlets situated across India.

4. Cyrus Poonawalla: Poonawalla relishes a net worth of Rs 173,642.62 crore, and is the chairman of Serum Institute of India, the largest manufacturer of vaccines in the world. SII has a number of collaborations to produce Covid-19 vaccines. Stud farms are also included in Poonawalla's properties.

5. Shiv Nadar: The billionaire industrialist and chairman of HCL Technologies has a total worth of Rs 172,834.97 crore. The highest absolute reduction in his net worth was experienced by the forerunner of the Indian IT industry when he gave $662 million to causes relating to education this year. Despite this, he still ranks among the top ten richest Indians in 2022.

6. Savitri Jindal: The only woman in the Forbes top 10 list who is a billionaire and a working politician is Savitri Jindal, Chairperson Emeritus of the O.P. Jindal Group. She is valued Rs 132,452.97 crore as per reports.

7. Dilip Shanghvi: Sun Pharmaceuticals was founded by Dilip Shanghvi, who now has a total fortune of Rs 125,184.21 crores.

8. Hinduja Brothers: Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja founded the Hinduja Group in 1914, whose worldwide conglomerate is currently under the hands of the four siblings - Srichand, Gopichand, Prakash, and Ashok, whose combined fortune is valued at Rs 122,761.29 crore.

9. Kumar Birla: The head of the Aditya Birla Group, which produces everything from textiles to cement, has a net worth of Rs 121,146.01 crore, and has been ranked 9th in the list.

10. Bajaj Family: The 40 businesses that make up the Bajaj Group are owned by the Bajaj family. Jamnalal Bajaj founded the company in Mumbai in 1926. The family's flagship business, Bajaj Auto, is ranked as the fourth-largest two/three-wheeler manufacturer in the world with a net value of Rs 117,915.45 crore.
