In response to soaring inflation, states from Haryana and Himachal Pradesh to Jharkhand have all proposed financial bonanzas for their employees.
Many states have recently increased the Dearness Allowance for their state employees in accordance with the Central government's DA increase from last month. In response to rising prices, seven states, beginning with Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and ending with Jharkhand, have offered a cash windfall for those who work there. Himachal Pradesh increases its DA By 3%
The state's workers' Dearness Allowance was recently increased by 3% by the Himachal Pradesh government. According to the state administration, the DA would increase from its current rate of 31% to 34% from January 1, 2022.
The state government announced employees who departed after January 1, 2022, would receive cash payments for the receivables from January 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, which would be deposited to the GPF account.
Jharkhand Government Hikes DA by 8%
The Jharkhand government increased the dearness allowance for its workers on April 27 from 34% to 42%. Under the direction of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the decision to increase the DA rate was made in the state's cabinet conference.
According to the state administration, the rise will have an annual impact of Rs 441.52 crore on the treasury. Employees will start receiving an additional instalment of their dearness allowance on January 1, 2023.
Notably, the increase in DA follows the approved formula, which was developed based on the suggestions of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
With start from January 1, 2023, the state increased the dearness relief for state-funded pensioners in addition to the DA.
Haryana increases DA by 4%
The DA for state workers was recently increased by the Haryana government by 4%. With force from January 1, 2023, the state administration announced an increase in the DA from its previous amount of 38 to 42 percent of the base salary.
According to the state's administration, arrears for the time frame of January through March of 2023 will be paid in May, and the higher DA will be paid with April's pay.
With effect from January 1, 2023, the state administration increased Dearness Relief (DR) from the previous amount of 38 to 42 percent of the basic pensions/family pension. The enhanced DR will be paid along with the family pensions in April 2023, and any arrears from January through March 2023 will be reimbursed in May.
