Government to Reduce LPG Cylinder Weight

Keeping in mind the problems of heavy weight of LPG cylinder faced by people during transportation, the government is planning to reduce the weight of the cylinders.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated that the central government would make a decision on reducing the weight of the cylinder soon.

In response to the issue of the heavy weight of the LPG cylinder in Parliament, Hardeep Puri stated, "People have to encounter a lot of challenges in moving it here and there due to the hefty weight of the cylinder." The majority of the issues arise with women who have to go to far-flung areas to get the gas cylinder filled. When it comes to rural areas, it is common for women to have to travel great distances to fill their LPG cylinders. In such a situation, their health is also affected badly.

He stated that the government is searching for a better solution to this situation even if we had to launch 5 kg cylinders with 14.2 kg cylinders in the market.

On the other hand, when it comes to inflation, it appears that India will soon exceed all other nations and take the lead. Whereas many were already concerned about rising fuel and diesel prices, the government has now raised the price of LPG as well. On the one hand, after the Corona period, when people began to manage their own finances, the government's arbitrariness has frightened the public. On December 1, the Government of India increased the rate of 19 kg i.e. commercial cylinder by Rs.100, causing inflation to affect people's business.

However, the government did not raise the price of household gas cylinders. After the reduction in the price of gasoline and diesel, many are optimistic that the government would soon lower the cost on LPG gas.
